Fun at the Zoo

I got a great deal a few months back on Groupon that I couldn't quiet pass up. So we got to take Cash to the zoo a couple weeks ago.

We headed out early, took Uncle Bob and Kari and had a great time at the Niabi Zoo. It's such a cute little zoo and oh so perfect for our little ball of energy. It was nice to get there early; hardly anyone was there and we beat the heat!

So much room to run, run, run!

Cash got to do all sorts of fun things; see the monkeys, feed some goats, come face to face with the birds and of course ride the train.

Pretty sure the monkey's were everyones favorite part.

Thanks Brent and Kari for spending the morning with us! Cash had a blast!!

Lake Life

We LOVE the Ozarks, it's kind of like our home away from home.

Pretty sure this is my favorite picture EVER!

We're so lucky to be able to pack up and go whenever need be. We're always surrounded by such great company and always have such a great time! We had the chance to go down over the Fourth, the first time since last fall; well for Cash and Mommy anyways. We're hoping to get the chance to go down for a few 'extra' days over Labor Day - Daddy is supposed to play ball...but that's not going to stop Cash and Mommy from heading down for a little bit for one last time this summer.

We sent Cash man down on Wednesday night with Grandma & Grandpa Steve and Uncle Bob & Kari. Of course he woke up that morning with a fever and it didn't really break until Saturday morning...and then a rash came. One 'quick' trip to the Osage Beach quick care and the diagnosis, Roseola and an ear infection. Cash was such a trooper and we're glad that's out of our system.

Poor little man, such a trooper, you can tell he didn't feel the best!

We got to hang out with the Hawkins' for a bit while we we're down there and also got to see our good friend Joe and his other half Jamie.  Next time...we promise to get in more 'mat' time!

Even on this handsome little man, a fanny pack is NOT cool!

Thanks again Gma' & Gpa' Steve and the Hawkins' for great food and once again, more memorable FUN.

Meeting Miss Etta

Cash got to meet his new baby cousin, Etta Jo Bell, yesterday.  The sweet little Miss was born on May 24th and weighed in at 7 lbs 2.5 oz.

She is just the sweetest little thing with dark hair and even a few curls! Cashman did pretty good with her; patting her head, touching her little fingers and even giving her a smooch on the head...then he wacked her on the tummy.  I'm sure she'll be getting him back for that some day!

We headed out to the Kalona Golf Course yesterday to see Grandpa and even do a little putting. I'm sure it will be his first of many trips to the course!!

Cashman's first putting lesson with Grandpa.

He got to go for a few spins on the golf cart and eat some ice cubes, all before cooling off in the ice bin.

Cash even got to go for a ride in Grandpa Rodney's Jeep (sorry, no pictures of that)! We hope everyone had a fabulous Father's Day, we know we did at our house!

'Ball'

We took Cash to his first Kernel's game last week.  I'm not gonna lie...I was hoping that the crappy weather would ran the game out, but just my luck they still played!

Cashman was pretty good for oh let's say 2 innings tops.  The little man just can not sit still.  He is constantly go go go and kept us on our toes for sure.

Of course he found the balloons right away!

He loved watching the game, from everywhere that our seats were not and LOVED the ladies just a few tables down from us.

He wasn't too sure about Mr. Shucks.

It was a chilly night, but lots of fun!

Monday night he got to play a little with his California cousins - Jacob, Hannah & Josh.  We wish we could have spent more time with them while they were here, but maybe next time.  And on Sunday Cash finally gets to meet his new cousin Etta!!  We're so excited for Adam and Layne and can't wait to watch these two cause us all a few headaches in the future :)

I'm the Outdoors Type

Wow...I just realized that it's been a whole month since we've posted anything.  We've been pretty busy around our house (shocking, we know) but it's summer so would you expect anything less?  Nick and I just got back from a fabulous trip to St. Louis with some great friends where we got to see our beloved Cardinals sweep the Cubs!  It was a nice trip but bittersweet because Cash was home sick.

 Just chillin' before bedtime!

The little man is keeping us very busy these days and he wears us out!  I'm sad to say that he's not a baby anymore...but we're enjoying every minute of the ornery toddler that he is becoming!

Cash LOVES to be outside.  If that door is open...he's headed straight to it and right outside. I guess it's better than the alternative and it's quite fun to watch him roam around and find 'new' things. Now he's enjoying; throwing rocks, eating dirt, swimming, playing with the neighbors dog Abby and going for trips in his wagon (thanks Larry & Lo, it's his FAVORITE).

We're also starting to become a little chatter box around the house, I've always said he's just like daddy.  Our vocabulary now consists of 'hi', 'baby', 'pup' and 'ball' and I think we've caught him saying 'oh gees' a time or two as well.

There is another busy week in our future...we've gotten passed the graduation parties, but the weddings are about to get into full swing.  We're also taking Cash to his first Kernel's game this week and he even get's to go to a parade!  Hope you're all staying cool and just as busy as we are!

Cash might begin to think that the Casino pool is his own!

1 Year Pics

As promised...here are Cash's one year pics.  Once again Sarah Nebel Photography had him rockin' that shoot!  I'm just sad now that we don't have any more 'milestone' birthdays for a while. Thanks again Sarah! We LOVE them.

I'm into...

EVERYTHING!!

We've recently discovered that Cash has become quiet the climber.  We're told that he gets to climb the stairs to lunch everyday at daycare and he's started showing his skills at home.

Here I am in my...High Chair

and in my...Toy Box

oh and I also found my way into the...Tupperware Lid Drawer!!

We had our 1 year check up today.  His current stats go a little like this: 22 lbs (39%) 32 in (91%) and he's still got a pretty big noggin' (81%).  Mommy thinks my head is so big because I'm so smart :)

We took Cash to Sarah Nebel again yesterday for his 1 year pics.  We took some props with us...and he couldn't take his eyes of these!

Stay tuned for more on those...oh and Cash is going to Prom tomorrow night.  Not officially, but he would make the most handsome date for someone.  We've got just a few, five to be exact, cousins that are going.  So we thought we'd take him to see the action!
