What a Weekend!

I literally feel like a walking zombie today.  It was so hard to pull myself out of bed this morning.  We've been non-stop since last Thursday and we're TIRED!

Christmas for us is always go go go.  Poor Cash gave us dirty looks every time we put him back into his car seat to go the next stop, but he is such a people watcher that he was so excited to get to wherever it was we were headed next.

I do really love this time of year, no really I do.  We get to see so many family and friends that it makes the hustle all worth while. We started off Thursday with some dear friends who were back in town for the Holidays.  We miss Krista & Joe so much through out the year and we're so excited for BOTH of them to be moving home soon.

Here's Cash with his buddies Aiden and Gracy.  Cash and Aiden are just 10 days apart.  This will be fun watching them to cause trouble together, I think!!

Friday was our busiest day to date.  We had 3 stops to make and Cash was such a trooper.  We started the morning with Grandma Julie, headed off to see Grandpa and Shari Mom Hawkins, then to see the crazies at the Hawkins side.  I think we got a total of 45 minutes of sleep out of little man the whole day, but he had a blast dancing up a storm while the kiddos (and uncle Bob) played the new Michael Jackson game on the Wii.

This year on the Hawkins side we played a few Minute to Win It games.  Here's dad doing the "Booty Pop".  He won two of the four games all by himself

Saturday was a day with the Cole's.  We headed to Grandpa Rodney's then off to Lone Tree to visit the rest of the family.  Then capped it off yesterday with the Kleopfer's.  Oh and I can't forget Christmas last week with Grandma Karen and Gpa Steve where dad got a new gun!

Santa even came to visit me at Grandma Karen's house.

Yeah we know, it's crazy and our house officially looks like a toy store.  Thank goodness most of the new toys have off switches :) Plus it was so fun to watch little man's eyes light up when he (mom and dad) was opening his gifts. He really did show some interest in it and it was so sweet.  Guess this just means we'll be working that much harder to get the basement done ASAP!!

Oh and how could I have forgotten...we have a CRAWLER on our hands.  Not sure if it's technically "crawling" but more or less "dragging" himself around.  Whatever it is, he's getting pretty good at it.  Time to but up the baby gate for sure!!

Holiday Wishes

We've been pretty busy and lots of things have been going on around the Cole household these past few weeks and once things calm down I've got tons to talk about ;)

We had Cash's 6 month pics and family pics taken back in October with the Gehman's of Gehman Photography, they also did our wedding pics, and they turned out oh so FABULOUS!  We love their work and they are both pretty awesome individuals.  It's funny how much hair Cash has gotten in two months, not to mention three teeth and one more on the way.

Anyways, we wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and we hope the New Year keeps us all healthy, happy and still very busy.

Baby it's COLD outside!

Well...it finally feels like December.  We got our first snow a few days ago, and well I don't like it.  Guess I should either move or deal with it.  I think for now we'll just deal with it.

We had so much fun at Dustin & Carly's wedding.  What a beautiful day they had and everything was GORGEOUS.  I got a new camera last week and was so excited to use it over the weekend, but wouldn't 'ya know it...I think I took two pictures and they weren't even of Cash looking so handsome for the festivities.  Here are the few I did manage to get, poor thing was so sweaty he was showing off his WT look.

Cash learned a new trick at daycare last week.  Of course we've been working with him, but it took someone else to finally get it out of him.  Look...

I can wave HELLO!

I think we may try and get our Christmas shopping accomplished this weekend.  Let's hope it ALL gets checked off the list.  We've got quiet a lot to do yet, and I'm getting pretty nervous.  It's a good thing Cash likes shopping with mommy and grandma.  Daddy has a tournament this weekend at Wartburg, so that means we're heading to the mall.

We're so glad that we finally just get a week to chill...and I mean it literally this week!

So Big!!

Wow what a crazy week it's been!

We continued our Thanksgiving fun on Thursday with the Cole's, did some crazy Black Friday shopping (out the door at 3:30), and ended the fun with two more Thanksgiving's.  First to the Riggan's and then to the Hawkins' to finish it off.  It get's us excited, yet tired, thinking about the Christmas season.

Here's a picture of Cash just after we told him we've got eight Christmas' to attend.  I think he's confused.  Just like most people would be :)

I think I mentioned before how Cash is manuevering all over the place.  We've only caught him a few times up on all fours, so we're guessing that it still may be awhile before we see some crawling action.  The other night I layed the little booger on the floor to do some playing and next thing I knew I found this...

It's so amazing to watch Cash learn new things.  We've heard that they learn more things in the first two years of their lives then they do the rest of it.  Not sure if there is much truth to that, but we'll roll with it!

We've been trying to teach Cash the infamous "So Big" for awhile now with no such luck.  We came to find out that all he needed was a little coaxing from Grandpa Hawkins to finally figure out the trick.  It is so funny to see him throw his chubby little arms in the air.  He gets so excited when he realizes that he's done something pretty cool!

Check out those chompers!  He's got two, but we noticed last night that he's getting one of his top teeth as well.

We've got another crazy weekend.  Nick's cousin Dustin and his fiance Carly are going to make it official.  Dad is in the wedding and the festivities kick off tomorrow night with some rehearsing. We hope to have some fun pictures to share with you next week.  We're so excited for the two of them and can't wait to see so many of our extended family and friends.

Oh and Dad's got his annual deer camp with the Robertson's.  Maybe he'll finally get that infamous deer, because we all know that Bow Season has not been good to him :)

Until next time...Have a wonderful week!

Carrot Catastrophe

Well once again we were busy as could be this weekend!  Some day it will slow down, right??

We took Cash to watch daddy's Kohawks take on the Hawkeye's at the Iowa Duals.  There was so much going on he didn't know where to look first, I guess he did pay a lot of attention to the pretty ladies behind us.  We may have a future flirt on our hands.  I'm pretty sure he loved every minute of it, to dad's liking of course! Unfortunately the Kohawk's didn't fair so well, but we're still looking forward to watching them both this season.

Cash man has been eating baby food for a solid month now, some days are better then other's but we're getting there.  I usually ask Nick before dinner time if he wants to feed lil' man his food, his response always is "Nope".  Well I'm pretty sure I found out the reason why I always get a no this weekend.

I think it takes a skilled and patient person to feed a baby and I think my skills and patience went out the window during lunch on Sunday.  I sat Cash down in his Bumbo, locked on the trey, put on his bib and we were ready to go...so I thought! I think I ate more carrots then Cash did. You see, he likes to spit and spit he did. Everywhere was spit, his bib and I looked like we'd just gone to a splatter paint lesson.

At one point, to even get him to eat, I'd have to leave a little trail of food on the trey to keep him occupied so I could sneak a bite in his mouth.  After about a half hour we finally made it through the small jar of carrots.  I don't think I want to see carrots ever again and for his bib, it's in the garbage...there is no way those carrots are coming out of that!

Here's a little proof of some of our recent disasters :)

Sunday we had our first of many family Thanksgiving's. To the Riverside Casino we went to visit the Kleopfer's.  It's always so great to see everyone and Cash did fabulous!  Pretty sure he wore everybody out, even though it should have been the other way around.

Have a good week everyone and  Happy Thanksgiving!!

We're Gonna Give It A Go!

So a friend of mine here at work convinced me into doing a blog.  That was months ago and I'm finally finding some free time to try it out.

We've been very busy at our house.  Cash is 7 Month's old now and could not be more entertaining!! His second tooth just broke through, he's sitting up like a "Big Boy" and he's maneuvering around the living room like he's been doing it for year's.  I'm guessing that baby proofing will be the next thing on the agenda.

Nick is still trying to shoot down the "Big One" and fell out of his tree stand last week trying.  Good thing is it was from only about 10 feet, so he's just fine.  Wrestling also started so he's been trying to get into the room as much as he can.  We're looking forward to cheering on the Hawks and Kohawks this winter!!

I'm, well, I'm not up to much.  Cash takes up so much of my free time, but it's so worth it.  I've been trying to get things organized at the new house and am ready to gear up for the holiday season.  Black Friday...you better watch out!!

Here are a few new pics of Cash to keep you entertained until next time, most are from Halloween because I have yet to download any new ones from my camera.  Enjoy!!
