Santa Came...

What a crazy Christmas weekend we had.

Future Fire Fighter or Santa Clause? He doesn't have to make up his mind just yet!

I've had the novelty of enjoying, well trying we're just getting over the 24 hour flu, the week off of work and although I just finished taking down all the Christmas decor I've realized that there is a different kind of red and green thats thrown up all over our house. That's right, it's the tractor kind! Cash is in seventh heaven these days and every time he sees one, or two, or all twelve he freaks out. We even get a few 'oh boy's' here and there (thanks Uncle Kyle).

Gettin' some love from Great G'ma Riggan.

We even got to experience a Santa visit to our house, Cash was pretty excited to see a bike under the tree.

Taking a little test drive, had to lower the seat just a tad.

And we can't get by without some crazy good fun :)

Testing out the 3D. Shari-Mom likes to call this a look into Kari's future ;)

Welcome to...

Well, she's here! Some of our closest friends became parents for the very first time on December 11th and we are so so excited for them. Miss Allie Marie Smothers made her debut three whole weeks early and is just the SWEETEST little peanut and looks an awful lot like her mommy. Congrat's Cassie and Chad, welcome to the crazy world of parenting!!

Our little sis Jacky graduated from the University of Northern Iowa on the 17th. We're so so proud of her and would like to welcome her into the crazy world of 'real life'. It sucks, you're gonna love it :)

We're trying to let Cash eat more with a spoon on his own. With a fork he's a pro...a spoon not so much. Welcome to the world of self feeding!!

Lovin' It

I would like to take a quick minute and take back every nasty thing that I said about Mother Nature this year.  She has been my friend so far this winter and we're Lovin' It!!  Thank you so much for giving us a few more days where we can do things like this in the middle of December.

If you've seen or talked to Cash lately you'll know he's OBSESSED with anything tractor, or combine or farm related. So we took the opportunity on this fabulous day for one last tractor ride of the year.

We also took him to see the cows and pigs. As Aunt Jacky said today, it's funny how he is not a fan of getting close to Santa, or Herky or even 'TC' the panther but if you put him next to a cow three times his size or even a huge boar he's pretty comfortable!

Enjoy these 'last' nice days, I'm sure we'll all be cussing out Mother Nature in the near future.

Happy Halloween

Well I told you Cash was going to be something 'Super' for Halloween. So here he is...

He's Super Cash!

It was so fun to see him getting into it. Of course we only stopped a few places but he loved it! We couldn't even get him to sit and eat because of all the kiddos coming up to grandma's door.

Hope you all had fabulous Halloween, we're finally coming down from our sugar high.

Cash, Etta & G'ma Shari.

Cousin Etta, the cutest little lady bug!!

More Fall Fun

How is it the end of October already?

We're enjoying the last few nice days of fall and having a blast. Grandma and I took Cash to Wilson's Apple Orchard last weekend. What a cute little place! I just wish there would have been some apples to pick, but unfortunately we picked a late fall weekend to head there.

Cash had so much fun running, throwing walnuts, digging in old pumpkins and of course getting a tractor ride.

We had his 18 month check up on Monday and his current stats go like this; 25.5 lbs (46%) and 34 in (88%). He is so much fun right now and getting rather chatty! Some new words include 'mombine' after many trips with Grandpa in the Combine this fall, he's singing the 'e-i-e-i-o' part of Old McDonald's farm and really enjoying all his 'shoes'. But I have to say my favorite by far is when he said 'love you' at bedtime tonight!

He love's his 'nanas'

We'll have some Halloween shots next week, let's just say Cash is going to be something 'Super'!

Fall Fun!

Yikes what a cool down..I think, think I saw 60's in the forecast for next week.

Cash got to go on his first pony ride a few weekends back, a little nervous at first but once the ride was over he was clawing to get back on. Oh and if you haven't heard it yet...he makes the cutest little horsey sound!

We also took him out to the Sass Family Farm to get a pumpkin that he could carve and dig into. The turd spent most of the time eating the raw pumpkin, yuck! He obviously get's his tastebuds from his daddy!

 Lovin' the animals this year!

Mommy decided it was time for a whack job on the hair.

This is what brought on the haircut so I'm blaming it on his father, if he wouldn't have combed it like this...it wouldn't have gotten cut!

I'm heading to Chicago this weekend with mom, Kati & Kari. We're so excited to hit up all the shops; Ikea, Trader Joe's, H&M, the Aurora Outlets. Oh and our St. Louis Cardinals are playing in the WORLD SERIES! Something none of us would have guessed all the way back in July, but here they are and we're wishing them luck!! GO REDBIRDS!

Summer Wrap Up!

Holy Crap...I just looked at the calendar and it's September 13th already.  Where in the heck did this summer go??

I think he ate sweet corn everyday for three weeks!

As usual, we were busy busy busy (I think I'm sounding like a broken record) and I can not believe that I didn't do one post in August. Between Weddings, Water Parks, Sand in the City, Lake Trips and just plain life the summer really got away from us. So here's a quick wrap up.

In July my cousin Lindsay got married. It was so great to see that side of the family.  We don't get to see them very often so when we do it's so nice! Even got to see my cousin Richie and part of his family. I don't think I've seen my cousin Richie or his family since I was in elementary school.

We took Cash on his first trip to Wasserbahn in the Amana's for my step-niece Ashley's birthday. To any or all of my friend's with little ones, please please take them there.  It's cheap, right down the street (well kind of) and it's PERFECT for them.  Cash enjoyed it so very much!!

Cash got to go for his first trip downtown for Sand in the City. Uncle Bob's EPIC group borrowed one of his books, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and made an awesome sculpture.  They even won an award...for the 'Tallest'. We thought it was awesome!

Lovin' the band....just like daddy does!

Then finally over the Labor Day weekend we took one last trip south to the Lake. It was nice to spend a few extra days there and great to be there when it wasn't so busy. Mom and Dad got to head out to 'Nellyfest' with they're friends and had a great time. I'd love to be able to tell you the show was great, but we didn't really see any of it. The boat 'time' was fabulous though :)

We took Cash down to 'Dogpatch' for a trip and went to the scurvy Arcade, pretty sure that's the last time we'll be doing that!

Oh and we're very excited to report that the basement is FINISHED! We had carpet laid while we were at the Lake and furniture came today. We're so excited for the extra space. More on that soon (I promise).

Hey, one can dream...right!!
