Brrr...

We took Cash last weekend to watch his crazy Uncle Bob take the Polar Plunge.  For those of you who don't know what it is or who have never heard of it, here's a little run down.

The Polar Plunge usually takes place in March and is a benefit to raise money for the Special Olympics.  Those of you who don't know Brent (Bob) should know that he's involved in EVERYTHING!!  He's a Big Brother, the President of his Kiwanis group, teaches a Junior Achievement class and is on the Civic Committee of a new Iowa City group EPIC.  EPIC is the group that he took the Plunge with.

I don't really know the exact temps but they said that the water temperature last Saturday was warmer than the temperature outside.  Crazy if you ask me, it was a COLD one.  It was fun to go and support him at one of his many events and we look forward to going to other events in the future.

Cash man even got to have his favorite, Doritos, after the Plunge.

We've been pretty busy around our house.  The basement is coming along, the wedding season is about to begin along with a HUGE baby boom among our friends, it's mommy's favorite time of the year - Opening Day is tomorrow :),  and most importantly we're planning a pretty special birthday party for our little energizer bunny!

Yes, that's a whole box of wipes all over the floor.

Yup that's right, he's not frankenstien anymore...he's the energizer bunny. We're pretty sure that he's begining to run, not walk, to things and Cash is NON-STOP from the time he wakes up to when he may finally crash to take a little snooze and he is into everything.  It's pretty entertaining and draining at the same time.

I think, think he learned this from Daddy?!?!

Helping Mommy clean.  He threw an absolute fit when I put the swiffer away.  Guess he'll be starting his chores sooner rather then later ;)

Progress

If you didn't know, which I don't know how you couldn't, we bought our first home last June. It's prefect for us and we LOVE the room.  It just so has it that we're running out of it already :) Here's a little proof...

See how small the toy box is on the right of the entertainment center??

This is what it looks like today!

Needless to say we've begun finishing the basement.  Slowly, but surely, we're getting there.  Most of the paint is done, except for the bathroom (can't decide on a color).  Then we'll move to trim, flooring and wallah...Cash will have more room for his toys.  The thing I'm most excited about, out of sight - out of mind.  In the basement I won't have to worry about clean up everyday :)

...and the future 3rd Bathroom

We were at first hoping to have this done by the BIG birthday party.  It's not looking like that will happen...maybe by next birthday!

Cash man is also making big STEPS of his own these days.  Frankenstein, as he is now called at home, is WALKING!  Kind of scary at first...but also oh so cute and he thinks he's a pretty big deal these days.

We're still a little wobbly, but I'll take it.  We can't have him running from the get go!

Once again, a little late.  He'll be 11 months old on Saturday.

Cash had his first ear infection a few weeks ago to.  I have to say, I hope we NEVER go through that again. I'm sure it will not be the last time, but one can hope.  He was miserable and had the worst butt rash I've ever seen. It did slow him down for a few days and thank goodness we're back to normal.  I was so excited for the solid poop he had on Friday. Cash on the other hand just looked at me like I was nuts when I cheered for it.

Look who found the tupperware lid drawer!
